Built in 1930 in Holland, the boat was re modeled into a private vessel about 30 years ago in Gronigen, Denmark, then yet more refit works in Venezuela in 1991. By now SINDBAD has circumnavigated almost two times. Trade wind sailing can be enjoyed under sail alone and the miles will slip by.
The keel cooled eight cylinder GARDNER main engine is an astonishing piece of engineering, only sipping fuel and with a fuel capacity of 15 tons the range is huge. A THRIGE auto pilot and SVENDBORG steering gear has run non stop for many years now, maintenance free. The vessel's systems are simple, sensible and very efficient.
SINDBAD has chartered in the Caribbean, featured on TV shows and has been a wood working shop, a copper sculpting shop and art gallery. The boat has yet more potential for conversion in the main hold.. a vast space that is currently set aside for storage and work shop.
The boat has been placed ashore in Thailand for viewing and will be slipped at sale by her owners for full demonstrations of all systems.
